Situated in central London and a stroll from Trafalgar Square, St James's Park is one of the eight Royal Parks and the oldest. It is surrounded by three palaces, the best known of which is Buckingham Palace.

The Diana Memorial walk passes through St James's Park (also Hyde Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens: find out more about the walk here) and includes a lake featuring ducks, geese and pelicans and the Mall, the setting for many ceremonial events including the annual Trooping the Colour.

Deckchair hire is available, and there is a children's playground - Green Park is also nearby.
