The National Horseracing Museum is an amazing visitor attraction that provides something for the whole family. Take a journey back in time with a series of interactive displays and exhibitions, find out what it takes to be a jockey, and gallop past the finishing post on our racehorse simulator.
We’re more than just a museum here! Explore the delights and historical snapshots that can be found throughout; the galleries in the King’s Yard and Trainer’s House tell the story of horseracing from its earliest origins, to the world-wide phenomenon it is today.
Did you know we’re also the home of Retraining of Racehorses? Take a wander to the Rothschild Yard and meet former racehorses, and find out about their new careers, as they take on a new journey post racing.
The museum is lucky enough to have two catering options on site, so be sure to give them a visit whilst on your trip. The Tack Room restaurant features the best of British produce, with a cosy vibe during winter and an alfresco dining patio for summer. The Bakery, found at the end of the Kings Yard, serves a delicious selection of pastries, cakes, cold and hot drinks.
