Immerse yourself amongst the sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian voyage on a day out at Bristol’s No.1 Attraction, Brunel’s SS Great Britain.
The ship has been painstakingly restored to recreate Victorian life at sea on the world’s first great luxury liner. Climb aboard to explore every deck and cabin, with scenes so life-like you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.
Head below the glass sea and see how modern technology is protecting the ship’s original iron hull. Get up close with a 360° walk around the very dry dock where the ship was built, which dates back to the 1830s.
Discover the remarkable story of the ship’s homecoming to Bristol in the Dockyard Museum and read real passenger diaries to imagine what life was like on board the steamship.
Don’t miss the Being Brunel museum, where you can uncover the mind behind the SS Great Britain, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and learn more about how his projects became the world’s most important engineering achievements.
